New: Junior Duke Spaghetti Tower-Building World Championships are starting soon!
16th February to 6th March
On the 16th of February, submissions will be welcome for our next World Championships. You will have until the 6th of March to enter the competition. It is a team event where children up to the age of 14 should be encouraged to get together in teams of up to 6 to do their best to earn the title!
Here is the information about what to do: Click here for the pdf of the rules and suggestions - for sharing with pupils, sending out to staff and to parents.
There are two categories: a younger competition (up to, and including, the Year 3s) and an older one (from Year 4 up to Year 8).Your school may enter up to three results for each of the categories.
Children should use the suggested materials to build as tall a tower as possible in 20 minutes but the top tip is to give them time in the days running up to the competition day so that they may research, experiment and plan.
It's great fun as well as being a STEM project!
Big thanks to the staff and children at Hutchesons' Grammar School in Glasgow for helping by trialling the challenge!
